Strathspey Thistle 0-3 Lossiemouth – Match Report

(28/10/2023 – BREEDON HIGHLAND LEAGUE – SEAFIELD PARK, GRANTOWN-UPON-SPEY)

LOSSIEMOUTH won for the second game in a row, blitzing STRATHSPEY THISTLE at Seafield Park to complete the month of October without dropping a point or conceding a goal. The Coasters arrived in Grantown eager to make amends for the careless Highland League Cup loss to Strathspey back in August, and a lightning start to the game ensured the points would be heading north to Lossie come full time.

All the goals came inside the opening thirteen minutes, with Henry Jordan getting things going in the fifth minute by converting an assist from Ross Morrison. The Coasters doubled their lead moments later, with Lewis Mcandrew setting up the livewire Morrison for a shot at goal, which found the net via the frame of the goal.

Thirteen minutes in, Lossie all but wrapped up the points and Morrison was again involved. Ryan Farquhar sliced the Strathspey defence in two and Morrison raced through on goal before applying a clinical finish. With their tails up, Lossie looked to add to their tally and Fraser Forbes, Liam Archibald and Ryan Farquhar all went close to a fourth for the visitors. At the other end, Strathspey were only rarely a threat, with one shot clearing the fence behind the goal and landing in the golf club car park.

Strathspey remain pointless and at the bottom of the league, while the win hoisted Lossie above Deveronvale, Keith and Wick Academy and up into twelfth in the table.
