(02/09/2023 – BREEDON HIGHLAND LEAGUE, SPAIN PAR, ABERDEEN)
The new month begins with a trip to Aberdeen for a Breedon Highland League game against Banks O’ Dee.
LEAGUE FORM (MOST RECENT RESULT FIRST)…
LOSSIEMOUTH – DLLLL, GF 4, GA 11; LEAGUE POSITION – 15th
The Coasters picked up their first point of the season after drawing with Brora Rangers in the middle of the month, but since then have gone on to exit both the Highland League Cup at the hands of Strathspey Thistle and the North of Scotland Cup away to Nairn County. Both cup ties were lost by a single goal, with the Nairn loss coming after the Coasters recovered from two goals behind late in the game.

BANKS O’ DEE – WDWW, GF 15, GA 2; LEAGUE POSITION – 2nd
Banks O’ Dee got their league season off to a successful start and remain unbeaten after four games, but suffered a surprised loss on their own artificial turf to Forres Mechanics in the Highland League Cup last weekend, ending their defence of the trophy won in April at the first attempt. Since joining the Highland League, Banks O’ Dee have made the most of their home ground, losing there just four times across their first league campaign, and have started with two wins from two outings this season.
LAST TIME AT SPAIN PARK…
01/04/2023 – Banks O’ Dee 7-0 Lossiemouth – Match report – Match photos
Banks O’ Dee welcomed Lossie to darkest Torry for the first competitive match between the sides at Spain Park, although the welcome didn’t last as the hosts warmed up for their cup final appearance the following weekend with a handsome win. The highlight of the game for Lossie came in the second half as Cameron Farquhar saved a Neil Gauld penalty, but the less said about the rest of the game the better, so we won’t.
TOP SCORERS…
Dean Stewart has found the net three times for Lossie, with Ryan Farquhar, James Leslie and Ross Morrison also netting for the Grant Park outfit. Banks O’ Dee have scored in every Highland League homer they’ve played since joining the league, and Lachie Macleod is their top scorer this season with four goals so far.
MATCH OFFICIALS…
Lewis Brown has the whistle, and is accompanied by Steven Christie and Will McFarlane on semaphore duties.
IF YOU’RE GOING TO THE GAME…
Door tax is a tenner if paying by cash, and should also be a tenner if paying by card.
Parking near the ground can be something of a quest so your best bet is to get the bus to the ground. Number 3 will get you there. Pre-match drinking, lol. The Wellington at the top of the hill is arguably the most convenient, and at least an easy downhill roll ahead of KO. Leave plenty time tho, as even downhill it’s still a hike. Best scooping in town then on the bus or taxi.
ON THE DAY…
Updates and the like will be available on Twitter from before KO. Full spread after.
SOCIAL MEDIA TEAM PREDICTION…
