(17/09/2022 – SCOTTISH CUP, GRANT PARK, LOSSIEMOUTH)

The Road to Hampden starts at Grant Park, Lossiemouth as the Coasters and Buckie Thistle (and all other Highland League sides) begin their annual Scottish Cup adventure. Lossie have been denied another crack at a side from the Lothians and this time out host Highland League rivals Buckie Thistle in the first round. Both sides will be hungry for the win and a slice of the glory that comes with a Scottish Cup run, not to mention a piece of the prize money pie on offer, but only one can squeeze through the gate standing between the clubs and the second round.

LEAGUE FORM (MOST RECENT RESULT FIRST)…

LOSSIEMOUTH – WLWWL, GF 11, GA 14; LEAGUE POSITION – 12th

A slow start to the season saw Lossie suffer losses to title contenders Formartine and Fraserburgh before picking up considerably once the opening weeks were out of the way, and wins over Forres (NOS Cup), Wick and Strathspey followed in August. The Coasters go into the game in good humour after the scudding of Nairn County two weekends ago, about which you can read here and see photos of here. The trip to Inverurie Loco Works was postponed meaning Lossie go into the game fresh, as will Buckie.
