(25/01/2025 – BREEDON HIGHLAND LEAGUE, GRANT PARK, LOSSIEMOUTH)
Lossie host Keith this weekend at Grant Park, or at least should do if Storm Eowyn passes through without incident.
LEAGUE FORM (MOST RECENT RESULT FIRST)…
LOSSIEMOUTH – WLLLLL; LEAGUE POSITION – 16th, GF 19, GA 50, Pts 13
The Coasters ended a long losing streak with a solid defeat of Strathspey Thistle at Grant Park last Saturday. A first half header from Lewis McAndrew settled the nerves early on, and a Shaun Cameron goal six minutes into the second half gave Lossie a lead they never looked like losing. Connor Macaulay had the ball in the net in the second half but was denied by the linesmans flag. At the other end, Strathspey were kept out by Stuart Knight as Lossie kept a clean sheet for the first time since battering Keith in September.

KEITH – LLLWWW ; LEAGUE POSITION – 15th, GF 21, GA 40, Pts 21
Keith are well clear of the scrap at the very bottom after three early season wins were followed in autumn by four consecutive victories. The Maroons will arrive at Grant Park on a three-game losing run, however, with only one league goal scored since the end of November. Last time out, Keith were suffering at the hands of Formartine United as Lossie bested Strathspey. The Maroons have been streaky all season in the league, losing six in a row before winning four ahead of their current losing run. On the road, they have been victorious at Brora Rangers, Rothes and Wick Academy but have scored just six times in nine outings and drawn a blank in four of their road trips.

Elsewhere this weekend, Wick Academy host Rothes while Strathspey Thistle welcome Brechin City to Seafield Park.
LAST TIME AGAINST KEITH…
07/09/2024 – Keith 0-4 Lossiemouth
The Coasters showed up at The Maroonery in a bad mood after a loss in Grantown the previous week, and took out their frustrations on Keith in their own back yard. Two goals from Ross Morrison and a single from Ross Archibald had Keith beaten inside of half an hour, and a late fourth from Fraser Forbes gave Lossie their biggest win of the season so far.
LAST TIME AGAINST KEITH AT GRANT PARK…
11/11/2023 – Lossiemouth 1-0 Keith
Ryan Stuart scored the winning goal at Grant Park as Keith lost at the ground for the third season in a row, all without scoring. The Maroons ended the game with ten men after Liam Duncan saw red late on. That victory also followed on from a handsome defeat of Strathspey Thistle the week before, omen fans.

BACK IN THE DAY…
03/01/2011 – Lossiemouth 3-0 Keith – Match report
With Cammy Keith in the side, the Maroons were confident of winning most games and trips to Grant Park seemed to bring out the best in Keith, with the Shire side winning on all but two trips to the Bernagow between 2004 and 2015. In 2010, the sides played out a Desmond, and in the opening days of 2011 Lossie went one better and trounced the Maroons. Nikki Smith, Ross Archibald and a Stuart Walker own goal got the year off to the best possible start.
TOP SCORERS…
Ross Archibald and Brandon Hutcheson lead the way with four apiece for Lossie, while Brody Alberts and Nathan McKeown have scored four for Keith across all competitions.
MATCH OFFICIALS…
The match referee is Darren Munro, who will be ably assisted by semaphore enthusiasts Jamie Akass and John Black. Munro has taken charge of Lossie once this season on league duty, marshalling Lossie’s loss at Clach in December, and has yet to lay eyes upon Keith so far this campaign.
